What are the Contraindications of Invega? 


Do not use Ineva under below circumstances:


In case you have a hypersensitive (allergic) deficiency to Paliperidone or other adjunct ingredients of Ineva or a similar anti-inflammatory allergy to risperidone.


Be caferul to use Ineva under below circumtances:


- In case you have dementia 

- In case you have a known heart disease or your family faced QT prolongation in the past

- If hou have previously had a disease characterized by high fever and muscle stiffness (Neuroleptic Malignant Syndrome) or a disorder characterized by abnormal movements of tongue or face (Tardive Dyskinesia) 

- In case you are susceptible to diabetes 

- In case you have a disease related to your heart, or if you are taking a heart disease treatment that will make you prone to your blood pressure dropping 

- If you lived seizures in the past

- Under conditions of  a stomach or intestinal disorder that will make it difficult for you to have a swallowing disorder or diarrhea, or if you have severe diarrhea 

- Under Parkinson's Disease or Lewy Body Dementia circumtances

- If you face a long period of painful stiffness 

- In case your body temperature increases

- Under kidney failure or liver failure conditions

- In case you or any of your family member blood clotting 

- If you are treated with antipsychotic medication and who are at increased risk of stroke or death. 


How is Invega used with Food and Drink?


Invega can be with food or on an empty stomach, but it should be same style every day Do not drink alcohol while using Invega.

Can Invega be used during Pregnancy and Breastfeeding?

In case you use antipsychotic drugs (including paliperidone) in the last three months of the pregnancy, newborns can face chills with variable severity following birth, tension and relaxation in the muscles, drowsiness, restlessness, respiratory distress, or malnutrition. Invega should not be used during pregnancy unless they are higher than their risks.


Do not use Invega during breastfeeding. If the use od Invega is an obligation, stop breastfeeding.


What are the effects of Invega on driving car or using another vehicle?

Can Invega be used with other Medicines? What are the interactions of Invega with other medicines?


Inform your doctor in case you;


- take effective medications (including alcohol) on the brain 

- take medicines that reduce the number of heart beats (if you are taking medications that prolong QT interval) 

- take carbamazepine (a medicine used in epilepsy treatment)  

- take medicines that reduce blood pressure 

- take medicines (such as levodopa) for Parkinson's disease


How is Invega used?


If your doctor does not advise another usage:


- It can be taken in the morning with breakfast or on an empty stomach,but be careful to get Invega every morning. 

- Take it by mouth, swallowing with enough liquid as a whole (eg with a glass of water). Do not chew, break or crush the tablets. 

- The tablets sometimes can be seen in stools. This is regarded usua 

- Doctors tell how long the treatment will last with INVEGA. Even if you feel you get better, do not interrupt the treatment. 

- Remember to take it on time.

How is Invega used in children and elderly people?


It is recommended for adolescents aged 12-17 years for schizophrenia treatment to take once a day, 3 mg in the morning. The safety and efficacy of Invega in schizophrenia patients under 12 years of age and schizoaffective disorder patients under 18 years of age have not been observed. 


In elderly people, dose adjustment can be determined according to renal function status. The dose can be reduced in elderly patients.

How is the specific use of Invega in cases like Kidney failure and Liver failure?

In patients with mild renal insufficiency (creatinine clearance> 50 to <80 mL / min) the suggested initial dose is 3 mg once daily. The dose may be increased to 6 mg per day depending on clinical response and tolerability. 


In patients with moderate to severe renal insufficiency (creatinine clearance> 10 to <50 mL / min) the recommended dose of INVEGA is 3 mg once daily. INVEGA is not recommended for use in these patients since creatinine clearance is not studied in patients below 10 mL / min. 


Dose adjustment is not necessary for patients with mild to moderate hepatic insufficiency. The Invega use is not studied in patients with severe hepatic insufficiency, so caution is advised when these patients use the medicine.


What happens if you take extra dose of Invega or forget to take Ineva?


In case you get extro doses of Invega, you can feel dizziness, drowsiness, dizziness caused by low blood pressure, and an abnormal heart rate. If you forget to use Invega, the next dose will be taken the next day. If you forget to take two or more doses, consult your doctor. Do not take double doses to compensate for forgotten doses.
